Rangko Cave – Hatamin Island Tour “A unique experience in the deeps of the earth”, is Flores’ newest adventure tour in the saltwater cave in Rangko. It’s hidden in the northwestern corner of Rangko Bay, which is riddled with freshwater springs that flow through mazes of limestone passageways. Few people ever witness the strange sights of these underwater chambers—fossils, sunlight beaming in from holes in the cave ceilings, and even ancient mastodon tusks—because the only way to see it all is by donning a mask and flippers. Floating in these pools is made easy by the abundance of salt in the water, making the whole experience unique and thrilling.
The tour will then proceed to explore some of the less-known and best-preserved reefs at Hatamin Island, where countless ocean creatures will be there for you to observe and admire.
TOUR PROGRAM
After breakfast transfer to Labuan Bajo Harbour to embark on a local wooden boat, heading north, for the 1.5-hour trip to Rangko Cave. Upon arrival at Rangko Beach, a short walk will get you to the cave, where you will be able to do some swimming in the salt water pool. Stalactites and stalagmites adorn the cave and make the whole experience unique.
The tour continues to Hatamin island, where we will do some snorkeling prior to return to the hotel. Return to Labuan Bajo around 16:00 (4pm)
